Reclaimed Fence Wood Frame

Recently, I opened my garage door to find a stack of reclaimed wood fencing sitting in my driveway. A gift from my brother-in-law. I was determined to use it to make some frames for some of my pyrography. I mean... have you priced custom frames lately????
I had purchased a plunge router and router table last year and have been waiting for my great-nephew to come over and show me how to use it. He has been too busy... so I headed to YouTube of course. After a real rough start and finding out that the 1/4" adaptor included with the router was not correct and getting that replaced... I ripped, sanded, routed, and miter cut the boards... I'm rather pleased with myself-ish.... not too bad for a first try... if I say so myself... and I did say so...

Wand Rack for Xander

My eldest grandmonster Xander just turned 11 on the 27th of August. Sheesh I'm old!
Xander's 1st Birthday on the beach... also the day of his first haircut... sigh...
Xander is a huge Harry Potter fan and has started collecting the various wands. He asked me to make him a stand for his first wand.. then the project took a turn when he decided he would like the stand to be more of a rack and hold more than one wand... has to be green and has to have his name burned on it.

So...
Pieces to the back of a broken kitchen chair...

Fancy workshop zebra duct tape and off to sand...

Burned and stained to the proper green color...

What started as a stand for 1 wand... becomes a rack for 9 wands...

Yep... that is a blister from screw'n in the cup... I mean wand hooks...
